Five months after the inaugural night in Nairobi, Vulai did the thing every cultural festival eventually has to do: it went home. The Ingoo Experience filled the Kakamega Showground in the heart of Western Kenya — not an event in Kakamega so much as a homecoming for it.
This was the chapter where the festival's five worlds came fully to life. Isukuti drum lines and live Luhya music ran across the stages; the food village served chicken, ugali and Western Kenya staples to a crowd that knew exactly what it was tasting; makers and crafts filled the market; and the storytelling that sits at the roots of the celebration finally had a hometown audience.
Demwa FB led a lineup that included MC Allandoz, Mango Muzik, Steve Kay and a back-to-back of DJ Shiti and Jay Jey the DJ, carrying the party from noon all the way to first light. The energy was different here — less proving a point, more celebrating among family.
If KICC was the spark, the Ingoo Experience was the proof that Vulai belongs to a place and its people first. It's the chapter that turned a one-night idea into an annual reason to come home.
VibePass sold the tickets for this one too — the same M-Pesa checkout and QR gate scans as the Nairobi debut, just with a hometown crowd on the other end of them.
